Shadowbeak in Palworld 1.0 has had its location changed in the update, and if the old spawn spots are being checked with no luck, that is exactly why. The location shift is the first thing worth knowing, followed closely by a significant breeding change that affects how this Pal can be obtained going forward.

This guide covers everything you need to know about Shadowbeak in Palworld 1.0, including its location, how to catch it, and what makes it worth using.

Note: The article is a work in progress, and additional details about Shadowbeak in Palworld 1.0 will be added as we discover them.

Shadowbeak is a Dark element type Pal and can now be found in Wildlife Sanctuary No. 3, accessed by heading northeast from the Deep Sand Dunes area at coordinates 528, 526, shown below. A flying mount like Jetragon is the recommended way to get there and navigate the sanctuary efficiently.

Once inside, keep doing circuits around the sanctuary and check every Pal that spawns. Shadowbeak in Palworld 1.0 is on the rarer side here, appearing roughly once in every 20 Pals. It takes some patience, but consistent laps around the area will produce one eventually.

Since Shadowbeak is weak to Dragon element Pals, bringing a Dragon type along for the fight makes the catch attempt considerably more manageable.

This is an important update for anyone who previously bred Shadowbeak through combinations. Following the 1.0 update, Shadowbeak can no longer be bred from a combination of different Pals. Like other Tower Boss Pals such as Lyleen and Grizzbolt, Shadowbeak now only breeds with its own species.

Shadowbeak's Partner Skill is called Modified DNA. It functions as a flying mount with increased movement speed while airborne, and additionally enhances Dark attacks by 15% while mounted. For players running dark-heavy builds, that passive damage bonus on top of the mount utility makes Shadowbeak a strong choice for both exploration and combat.

Shadowbeak is among the most durable Pals in the game on that front, which combined with its dark damage output makes it a strong all-round option.

Shadowbeak's moveset revolves around powerful Dark-type attacks, giving it access to several high-damage abilities alongside one exclusive skill that serves as its strongest offensive option. Let's take a look on all of its moves:

Divine Disaster II is Shadowbeak's exclusive skill and sits at the top of the damage ceiling alongside Dark Whisp, both at 600 power. Dark Laser at 450 power with a 20-second cooldown provides reliable high-damage output between those heavy hitters. The lower cooldown options like Dark Ball and Air Cannon keep pressure consistent during the gaps between bigger moves.

The combination of top-tier defense, solid attack stats, a 15% dark damage boost while mounted, and one of the better dark skill rosters in the game makes Shadowbeak one of the more well-rounded Pals available in 1.0.
