Khristian Curtis is a pitcher for the Pittsburgh Pirates, who selected him in the 12th round of the 2023 MLB draft. The right-hander pitched five scoreless innings against the Cleveland Guardians in his debut on Saturday. He struck out four.
Curtis was born on May 9, 2002, in Beaumont, Texas. He has been in a relationship with his fiancée, Kate McKinney, since May 2020.
Curtis' fiancée was born to Seth and Paige McKinney in December 2002. She has two younger sisters, Abigail (born February 2005) and Hannah (born February 2007).
McKinney's relationship with Curtis started on his 18th birthday. He proposed to her in October at the Miramont Country Club.
According to her LinkedIn profile, McKinney has been working as an income tax consultant at Deloitte in Dallas, Texas, since July. She previously interned at the company from June 2025 to August 2025.
McKinney attended Texas A&M University. She completed a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and a Master of Science in Accounting between January 2021 and May 2026. She was also an Aggie Panhellenic Woman of the Year recipient.
McKinney held numerous leadership positions at Texas A&M. She served as president of Chi Omega sorority and was co-CEO of Titans of Investing T40.
Moreover, McKinney served on the executive cabinet of the Student Government Association. She was also a member of PPA Group 33.
Before Texas A&M, McKinney graduated from College Station High School, Texas, in 2021. She was a volleyball player and track athlete in high school. She was an outside hitter and once led her squad into the regional quarterfinals.
Khristian Curtis' fiancée, Kate McKinney, comes from an athletic background. Her father, Seth McKinney, is a former NFL player, while her mother, Paige, is a CrossFit athlete. Kate's parents own and operate CrossFit Aggieland, located in College Station.
Seth played for the Miami Dolphins, Cleveland Browns and Buffalo Bills from 2002 to 2009. Before the NFL, he played collegiate football for Texas A &M. He was second-team All-American in 2001, third-team All-American in 2000 and first-team All-Big 12 in 2000 and 2001.
Kate's sister, Abigail, is a Texas A & M student, pursuing a degree in agribusiness. She is set to graduate in 2027. She has been interning at Creative Tonic Design in Houston since June.
Abigail also serves as the marketing chair on the executive council of Chi Omega. Before Texas A&M, she graduated from A&M Consolidated High School in 2023. Kate's youngest sister, Hannah, is also at Texas A&M and is part of Chi Omega.
