The FIFA World Cup 2026 concluded with Spain securing its second title after beating Argentina 1-0 in the final at the New York/New Jersey Stadium on Sunday.
The tournament held in the USA, Canada and Mexico was under the scanner for its unfavourable kick-off timings, especially taking into consideration the sweltering conditions.
But despite the heat, several of the world’s fastest players managed to clock formidable speeds.
It may not come as a surprise that France’s Kylian Mbappe was the player who led the list of fastest players at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The French captain clocked 37.61 kmph during the course of the competition, which is more than what last edition’s leader Kamaldeen Sulemana of Ghana achieved (35.7).
Mbappe went onto secure the Golden Boot after recording 10 goals along with four assists in eight appearances.
