The third ODI between England and India is taking place at the iconic Lord's on Sunday, July 19. Players from both teams were seen wearing black armbands for the contest.
This is in respect of legendary West Indies all-rounder Sir Garfield Sobers, who passed away at the age of 89 on Friday, July 17. Before the start of play in the third ODI, players from both teams and match officials lined up to observe a minute's silence as well. West Indies legends Brian Lara and Clive Lyod are also in attendance at Lord's for this contest.
Sir Garfield Sobers represented the West Indies in 93 Tests, scoring 8032 runs at an average of 57.78 with 26 centuries and 30 fifties, including a highest individual score of 365*. He also bagged 235 wickets at an average of 34.03. Sir Garfield Sobers played just a solitary one-day game for the West Indies and retired in 1974, a year before the inaugural ODI World Cup in 1975.
The third one-day at Lord's is the decider with the series levelled 1-1. India won the series opener by six wickets in Birmingham to take the initial lead. However, hosts England bounced back with a four-wicket win in the second game at Cardiff to draw level.
India made three changes to their playing XI for the third and final ODI of the series at Lord's. Out of these, a couple of them were forced changes, with all-rounder Washington Sundar and ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah being ruled out due to injuries.
KL Rahul returned after missing the second game, with Shivam Dube being dropped. India brought in Prince Yadav and Arshdeep Singh, going with a total of four pacers for this game. Despite the changes, there was still no place for Kuldeep Yadav in the XI.
