Fans called out officials for not ruling out Norway's opener because of an apparent foul on England captain Harry Kane in the build-up in the 2026 FIFA World Cup quarter-final in Miami on Saturday (July 11).

In the build-up to Andreas Schjelderup's 36th-opener for the Vikings, Kane was seemingly fouled before Schjelderup's shot beat Jordan Pickford. The Three Lions thought there was a foul, but the goal stood.

Fans reckon that was double standard by the officials, who had ruled out Mostafa Ziko's second-half strike in Egypt's 3-2 Round of 16 loss to Argentina for a foul in the build-up that occured at the other end. Ziko, though, scored shortly thereafter beore a late fightback saw the Albiceleste take a hard-fought win.

Jude Bellingham equalised for the Three Lions on the cusp of half-time as the 1966 champions went into the break on level terms.

In the second half of their 2026 FIFA World Cup quarter-final with England, Norway thought they regained the lead when Torbjorn Heggem beat Jordan Pickford at the far post off a corner.

However, the Vikings' joy was shortlived, as the 57th-minute strike was ruled out by the referee after a visit to the pitchside monitor, as Erling Haaland had shoved Elliot Anderson in the build-up.

Three Lions legend Alan Shearer reckons Stale Solbakken's side have looked better in the second half and that the Three Lions need to fix their defensive gaps.

Thomas Tuchel's side are looking to reach a second FIFA World Cup semi-final in three attempts, having done so at Russia 2018.
