New Delhi: Hours before Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana trailer was set to unveil at San Diego Comic-Con, the global trailer release was postponed to a later date.
As fans wait with bated breath for the trailer of the highly anticipated film, they will have to wait a bit longer now, as the makers have partnered with Sony Pictures Entertainment for the film’s international distribution.
Taking to Instagram on Friday (July 24), Namit Malhotra announced that the Ramayana trailer will be released at a later date.
His official statement read, “Today is a very special moment for our Ramayana. My dream of taking Ramayana to the world is now a reality with our partnership with Sony Pictures Entertainment.”
In light of the above, we will be launching our trailer globally at a later date. In over 100 years of Indian cinema, this will become a moment of great pride where Ramayana will be shown to the entire world like any major global Hollywood film,” he added.
He continued, “This is special as it opens the door for people of the world to discover the richness of our culture and our stories with renewed pride and enthusiasm. I thank all the fans and the believers of Ramayana for helping make this happen. The youth of our country are our future; let’s all do the best we can to protect our future.”
According to reports, Ramayana has been made on a staggering budget of Rs 4,000 crore. It stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, Ravi Dubey as Lakshman, Arun Govil as King Dasharatha, Lara Dutta Kaikeyi, and Anupam Kher as Jatayu, among others.
The film is scheduled to release worldwide during Diwali 2026, while the second part is slated to release during Diwali 2027.
