The Dharampur police in Solan district arrested a woman and her paramour for the murder of her husband on Sunday evening. On July 5, the Dagshai police had found the body of a person lying in a pool of blood in bushes near Johar Patiala village. The deceased was identified as Roop Lal (40), a native of Nepalganj village in Nepal, and was residing with his wife at Johar Patiala village near Bhojnagar where he worked as a labourer.

    “On July 4, he had left his house on foot to drop a relative but did not return. The next day his body was found dumped in bushes in a pool of blood near Johar Patiala village. The police recovered a blood-stained knife from the bushes while investigating the murder,” said SP, Solan, Sai Dattatreya Varma.

    An in-depth investigation was launched and scientific evidence was examined. An expert team from the State Science Laboratory, Junga, also visited the spot.

    The police probe revealed that Roop Lal’’s wife Chandra Chalaune (26) was involved in the murder. Chakra Bahadur Kami, a native of Salyan district in Nepal, had murdered Roop Lal. He was currently residing in BTM Apartment, Kumarhatti. A case under Section 103 of the BNS for murder was registered and the duo were arrested.
