New York Yankees pitcher Cam Schlittler believes Aaron Judge long held the default throne of New York sports. However, he acknowledges Jalen Brunson's recent championship run with the New York Knicks has altered the hierarchy.

Schlittler is an All-Star catcher for the Yankees. He appeared on the recent episode of "On Base with Mookie Betts," released on YouTube on Monday. The Dodger shortstop asked an important question to the righty pitcher during the podcast.

For context, Brunson, the All-Star guard of the Knicks, led the team to their first NBA championship since 1973 in June. The point guard also earned the 2026 NBA Finals MVP honors. He was also the 2026 Eastern Conference MVP.

The All-Star pitcher is confident that a World Series win for the Yankees would definitely put the tables in Judge's favor. The Yankees have not won a World Series since 2009.

The Bronx Bombers reached the World Series in 2024, but lost to the Los Angeles Dodgers in five games. Nevertheless, Judge's individual accolades are second to none in New York sports right now. The Yankees captain has won three American League MVP titles in the last four years.

In the same podcast episode, Cam Schlittler spoke highly of Aaron Boone, the New York Yankees skipper. He hailed Boone for his player-first approach.

Boone succeeded Joe Girardi as the Yankees manager in December 2017. The Bronx Bombers have missed the postseason only once, in 2023, since Boone's appointment. Moreover, they topped the AL East three times, in 2019, 2022 and 2024, reaching the ALCS on all three occasions.

Boone played 13 MLB seasons for six different teams. His sole All-Star selection came with the Cincinnati Reds in 2003.
