New Delhi: Zoho has launched Classes 2.0, a new AI-powered learning management system (LMS) designed for schools, colleges, and universities. The platform is developed in India, which integrates teaching, learning, student management, and institutional administration in a single platform. It is also bilingual in support of all 22 scheduled Indian languages and also compliant with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
The company stated that all government schools, colleges and universities in India would be able to access the platform without paying any licensing fee. Zoho further intends to roll out Classes 2.0 in the global markets in the future months. The platform is available to individual teachers who are responsible for up to 100 students on a no-cost basis.
The top feature, according to Zoho, is the AI Course Builder, which can generate a full course from a syllabus, lesson plan, or topic within 30 seconds. Produces lesson outlines, reading materials, assignments and practice tests and maps them to course outcomes and programme outcomes. Teachers can also set up lessons, determine when content is available, and access over 100,000 curriculum templates. The platform also can be used for “flipped classroom” teaching.
Students have access to a 24/7 AI tutor, gamified learning and microlearning modules. AI can help institutions to detect students that might need extra support on the academic level.
‘Classes 2.0 takes care of the entire student lifecycle, from enrolment through completion,’ said Zoho. It also has a low-code micro-app builder which enables institutions to build their own applications for admissions and syllabus management, as well as other administrative functions, without any coding.
The company stated that this platform has been accredited as per NAAC, NBA, UGC, and NMC requirements. It also features competency-based medical education workflows for medical colleges.
Zoho CEO Mani Vembu said that it was important “free licensing” be given to government institutions, as access to modern education technology should not be based on financial resources, and the company’s intention was to spread the usage. Institutions such as SRM Institute, Sishya School, Chettinad Health City and Vidya Mandir are already using the platform, Zoho said.
